I agree, Bellingham is a a lovely place. I Drove over there today; it only takes a half hour in the car from Rothbury (under 20 miles). Reminded me a little of Weardale - Stanhope, St. John`s Chapel etc etc...

Went into the bakers too; treated myself to a chocolate muffin and a toffee flavoured oaty type biscuit, called a rollo something or other - very nice! first `treat` I`ve allowed myself since I was diagnosed as having Type 2 Diabetes about 3 months ago ... I digress.

On the way back, I called in at the Otterburn Mill and picked up a nice new fleece jacket for 10 quid.

All in all, a very good day. Lot`s to do in Bellingham:some very nice (interesting) shops and a couple of good inns. Definitely be going back.

Definitely worth a visit Admin!

I was very pleasantly surprised. They have very good selection of clothing, footwear etc; a lot of reduced items too - my fleece (Regatta) was reduced by 50 per cent. Also, trousers, shirts, jumpers, socks etc all very competively priced. Lot`s of craft items too. And, they have a cafe, with an ouside (grassed) area with picnic tables.

I was well impressed!

Mind, back to Bellingham - there`s an ironmonger`s sells all manner of things, inc outdoor wear.

Like a different world.

PS. Thanks to CJ for the photo`s. :) and for giving me the inspiration to travel the road to Bellingham...
